birds at dusk

the chittering

of my cat

peace

suddenly

as the wind dies

night’s touch

balance

calm evening

i balance a leaf

on my fingertip

trees

tea with wrens

in the trees

wine with doves

now

even now

wild flowers bloom

war crimes

through

after all

thinking we were through

pine pollen

feast

sunflower seeds

the squirrel and i

two floors up

ripe
