christmas day
an eagle stops by
the old pine
a trail of song winds downriver kingfisher
only a cloud
comes and goes
hospital time
a tail flick
and the song disappears
little brown bird
last year’s fires
wrapped in my shawl
first cold spell
to
the
music
of
my
thoughts
night
walk
when right
feels so wrong
euthanasia
turtle on a log
the sound one makes
letting go
quid pro quo the crimson dawn of insomnia
autumn storm
a hummingbird nest’s
total disregard
afterward
the sound of crickets
breaking news
shades of grey
ducks down river
in morning mist
a squirrel tries
a different nut
red pepper flakes
last flower
the butterfly, too
is tattered
river rat
the shadow within
an owl’s voice
i brush the day
from my hair
two pines
a squirrel’s leap
between seasons
pressing ‘blend’
i cross my fingers
overripe bananas
a squirrel runs
across the asphalt
heat haze
sleeping with wind waking with crickets summer love
after the storm
the sound of wind
dying in the trees
border wall
the wherever
of wild asters
tropical wind
orange butterfly
and i
storm winds
the everywhere
of after
squirrels leap
between treetops
the morning moon
a quiet sky
a barrel floating
blue together
a pond of geese
on the putting green
tropical storm
my breath
on the phone’s screen
hurricane watch
only night
in the rear view
empty road
the chitter of leaves
rising
falling . .
rocking chairs
a bottle passes down
a summer night
hanging branches
sonata for raindrops
on water
herbs reach
towards sunset
window box
dream
walking
sunrise
teases
old
cat
a snake hunts between raindrops frog hatchlings
prairie grass
last night etched
in morning light
old nest
the high watermark
one year closer
moonroof
the distance between
the heres and theres
finding me
how long sleep takes
evening drizzle
harvest dawn dark clouds gathering blackbirds
summer storm
of pine needles
on the moon
the sound of a fly
in my window
