and just then
a mountain
blood moon
elderly friends
the colours of
their laughter
a ruckus of birds
the old cat closes
her eyes
bread crumbs
on the cutting board
foggy morning
winter
twilight
i
swirl
your
body
in
my
goblet
at the pinnacle
a dove comes to rest
guard tower
winter morning
someone’s footprints
as fresh as mine
ladybugs lie
in the dust of others
attic bedroom
uprooted
nothing changes
a redbird’s song
rain
drop
the
pause
between
us
until
a flock of finches
the sky and i
as always
what the forest knows
of it all
winter dusk
the silver sound
of a cowbell
hard winter
the softness of green
in hidden places
a wren and i
startle each other
unbroken snow
cliff’s edge
the sky is soft
to my touch
robin’s egg blue a child makes the gray winter sky
my world
is a book of poems
frozen mountain
brittle clouds
shards of sunlight
fall at my feet
i learn stillness
from a doe
pouring wine
the small sounds
evening fog
a sage smudge
from room to room
evening news
firelight dims
in the old cat’s eyes
melting ice
to become
the only sound
night run
long winter day
a tea bowl welcomes
my old hands
winter stew
the aroma of
anything goes
rounding a bend
north winds turn me
into the moon
tufts of snow
future perfect
butterflies
the sounds
i try not to make
wilderness hike
winter light
sunflower seeds wait
on the windowsill
new year morning
a woodpecker’s
first crisp note
