with headlights

a child draws stories
in the air
bouquets

branches

mountains of sky
to be blue with
how much silence
can a valley hold?
christmas fog
north wind
deep in the fir
a dove bows
just as before
it comes over me
evening calm
trying to rise
without waking the cat
winter morning
me
and the mountain
winter solstice
holiday traffic
watching mountains grow
in the distance
cold front
a heron steps
from the mist
late day sun
an owl-shaped shadow
takes the cypress
chamomile tea
spiked with moonlight
finally alone
with no path
i follow the sky
through an autumn day
drinking white
instead of red
night without stars
someone's cairn
even if i knew why
the trail ends
a bird shaped tear
the ups and downs
of a spider's day
a boat returns
the evening above
heavy with gulls
a band of jays
everyone's song
but their own
the maestro
i watch his body
shaping music
fresh market
the age of the hand
buying apples
moonlit
trail
slowly
catching
up
to
her
silver
hair
sweet morning air
a mosquito short
of perfection
sweeping the walk
again and again
all that returns
feral cat
the color of our eyes
touching
over the pond
if not for a crow
the hawk's sky
almost winter
sharing rice
with a dove
