marsh blackbirds
in the curve of reeds
midday sun
an eagle climbs
the back of a cloud
autumn evening
deep forest
afternoon passes
tree by tree
midnight walk
following the dog's nose
through the park
gray morning
the sound of
a red canoe
halfway there
a tail wind offers
the rest of the way
a spark floats
to the forest floor
fall colors
a hawk slips
between the colors
river twilight
after sixty
to become a poet
one fall day
the lizard grows
a new tail
our shadows touch
then pass on by
northerly wind
autumn haze
all i'll never know
about the sea
considering drought
the gravity
of a puddle
city night
old enough to hear
a distant sea
old tree
my daydream reaches
the highest branch
an owl takes flight
night forgets to breathe
for a moment
this world of drought
one tiny flower
fills it
a swallow's wings
turning the ferns
towards dusk
sparrow song
almost happy, almost sad
election morning
afternoon heat
the busyness
of lizards
to find it
i must go deeper
autumn blossom
ocean wind
i dream in waves
all night long
