morning dew

i forget the words
river music
picket fence
i bury my cat
on the sunny side
it ends
with a ladybug
moonlit poem
all the quiet
gone from the pond
first bullfrog
on the edge
of almost too far
crushed chili pepper
full of dawn
a mockingbird sings
the river silver
close enough
to feel you quiver
bumblebee
who's there to hear
the old pine fall
robins at dawn
these old bones
spring comes softly
nevertheless
mountain home
the scent of leaving
long after
waking to
the mourning of doves
winter returns
throbbing
spring has overcome
with blossoms
mountains -
quietly growing
softer
last
year's
leaves
the
sound
of
every
step
everywhere
i've ever wandered
ladybug morning
where river song ends duck feathers in the rocks
even faraway
your whisperings
creek at dawn
somewhere
i've misplaced your name
evening songbird
spring garden i come home smelling of mountains
digging a grave
wondering when to plant
which wildflowers
blustery day
everything yields
but the sky
between sunrise
and my bed
an owl flies home
endings
written on the sky
in vultures
mountains of trees
here i can be
nothing
the rainbow notes
of a raven's voice
maples budding
as day goes
so goes the old cat
sun shadows
fallen tree
the path you offer
across the creek
snow becomes
a wasp on a flower
winter day
the rain, too
seems disagreeable
not quite spring
